  • When to change a tire

    (1) Tire wear

The shoulder of each Hongyu tire has a pattern of triangular mark, which is used to guide the position of tire tread wear indicator. This triangle mark can help you find a protrusion at the bottom of the groove of the tread pattern, that is, the wear mark, with a height of 1.6mm (the legal minimum groove depth). When the tire is worn to the same height as the wear mark, it means that the handling and safety of the tire can not be guaranteed and must be replaced in time.

Hongyu suggested that tire replacement should be considered before such a degree of wear is reached. When excessively worn tires are used on slippery roads, the tread pattern cannot drain the water under the tires, which is prone to sideslip and increases the risk of driving out of control.

    (2) Tire damage

Hitting the shoulder, sinking into a pit or inserting nails while driving may seriously damage your tires.

The damaged tire is likely to be repaired, but only professional tire dealers are qualified to accurately judge whether the tire can be repaired or can only replace it with a new tire.

    (3) Tire aging

When the tire enters the aging period after a certain service life, you should always check whether there are small fine lines (front and side), tread deformation and obvious cracks. Once found, please stop using these tires immediately and ask professionals to check and judge whether the tire can continue to be used. If not, it must be replaced immediately.
